Suatu siang, saat saya masih berkantor di bilangan Salemba dan sedang ada tugas luar kantor, seorang teman, sopir kantor mengeluh tentang tunggakan kontraknya tiga bulan. Sesudah selesai berkeluh kesah, dia tepikan mobil kantor ke depan toko mainan anak-anak dan meminta saya untuk menunggu sebentar... Tidak berapa lama dia masuk mobil dan meletakkan Track Tamiya di jok belakang. Saya jadi gusar. "Tong, bukannya barusan loe ngeluh ga punya duit buat bayar tunggakan kredit rumah? Kenapa sekarang malah beli Track Tamiya ?" "Yah, gapapa lah Nge , kasihan anak gue ... Dari sebulan lalu merengek minta dibelikan, tapi malah dimarahi sama istri gue ... Cuma buat nyenengin anak Nge ." Cuma buat menyenangkan anak , kata-kata itu ga pernah lepas dari ingatan saya. Saya pernah mengalami hal serupa... Waktu itu Ibu meminta saya untuk memilih sunglasses mana yang saya suka... Tadinya saya tidak tertarik untuk membeli, tapi kemudian saya pilih juga satu. Tapi itu adalah bar...

Mungkin ga cuma pria, wanita pun suka melihat yang indah atau cantik, mungkin karena terlebih kami ini makhluk estetika :P. Dan dugaan saya terbukti karena sang ce' tidak menoleh sedikit pun kepada mas2 jaket hitam itu, meski dia dipandangi lekat-lekat. Dia putih, rambutnya sebahu, bibirnya merah, dan manies tentunya... Rupanya kami sama2 menunggu bus yang jumlahnya hanya satu dua itu. Hanya beda tujuan. Sempat Oprah Show menampilkan film dokumenter yang dibuat seorang remaja AS: kenyataan bahwa kebanyakan orang , baik yang berkulit putih dan hit...
